Forget writing - the best part of my job is listening.

I spend most of my working week writing for businesses - thought leadership, case studies, social posts - language carefully chosen to persuade, perform and convert.

My other role, as a Life Stories writer couldn't be more different - yet the skills are the same: asking the right questions and having an instinct for which details matter.

The difference is what's at stake - and I place value on both:

A weak brief in B2B costs a client some pipeline. A missed conversation with someone you care about can mean a memory is lost forever.

Life Stories is a service I offer to individuals who want to capture the memories, anecdotes and lived experiences of someone they love (or for themselves) before those stories are forgotten. 

It might be a potted life history or a collection of favourite moments. We sit down together, in person or online and I ask questions and listen. 

The finished result is not designed to impress - but to be treasured.
