Before they are forgotten over time, why not document those special memories, so you can cherish and share them with future generations?

Choose from a 'potted history' of your life, from birth to teenage years, education, career, children, travels and retirement - or a selection of favourite anecdotes and family stories to pass down to your children or grandchildren. Star Words has an option to suit everyone.

This is your life story, I'm simply here to help you write it.

How Does It Work?

STEP 1: RESEARCH

Once we have agreed which Life Story package is best suited to your needs and your budget, simply sit back, relax and enjoy the experience of recalling your memories, ideally in person - or online or over the phone.

STEP 2: CREATE

Using our interview notes, I will write your unique Life Story. Complementing your written memories, we can also include photographs of holidays, pets, cars, houses, favourite films, fashions, school reports, certificates, recipes & letters.

STEP 3: SHARE

After the final proofing and review stage, you will receive your finished Life Story [in printed and digital PDF and Word versions] to share with loved ones or to have published in a book format of your choice [see FAQs for more information].

Sophie Astin, Founder of Star Words

With over 20 years' experience, I have written on a wide range of topics, from the migration crisis and the history of the WI as well as interviews with celebrities.

I also work with businesses around the world, creating website content and blogs - from parenting to retirement living, finance to leadership. No two days are the same!

I'm known for being professional and friendly and, having spent my early career as the Personal Assistant to a well-known author, I understand the importance of privacy and discretion.

Now I look forward to writing your unique life story.

SILVER

Up to 5000 words & 5 images

This is an ideal package for a 'potted' life story, a series of anecdotes or a collection of memories from a specific period of your life.

We'll share 3 sessions in conversation, so we can preserve those precious memories you don't want to lose in the passage of time.

GOLD

Up to 8000 words & 10 images

The perfect choice for a more substantial story, this option can be divided into short chapters or themes according to chronology, people or places.

Over the course of 5 sessions, we will document the tales of your childhood, education, relationships and family, travels, career and more!

PLATINUM

Up to 15,000 words & 20 images

This is your life! Platinum level gives you the best option to truly document your life in detail.

Over 8 sessions, guided by my carefully chosen questions, I will help you to record your treasured memories from childhood and school, marriage and children, work and retirement - and everything else in between!

How long is each session?

Each session typically lasts 60 minutes, either in person at a location of your choice. Please note that while I am happy to travel to within 5 miles of Tunbridge Wells, for distances of up to 25 miles, petrol is charged at 45p per mile.
Do sessions have to take place in person?

Not at all! While I am based in Tunbridge Wells (UK), I am happy to document your Life Story over the phone or via video link (Zoom/Skype/FaceTime). Please note that while I am happy to travel to within 5 miles of Tunbridge Wells, for distances of up to 25 miles, petrol is charged at 45p per mile.
How much does a Life Story cost?

Choose from a range of packages, as follows: SILVER (up to 5000 words + 5 images) - £750 GOLD (up to 8000 words + 10 images) - £1250 PLATINUM (up to 15,000 words + 20 images) - £2250 Once you have chosen the package best suited to your Life Story, I will take a 50% deposit by way of agreement, with the remaining amount paid on delivery of your completed Life Story.
Can I have my Life Story printed as a book?

Yes, as an additional option, you can choose to have your Life Story presented in a variety of finishes and formats, at an additional cost to be agreed.
Can I buy a Life Story for someone else, as a gift?

Of course! A Life Story is a wonderful and unique gift but does, of course, require the recipient to offer their time to document their stories with me.
